Heidelberg

Dear friends, family and partners happy blessed 2019!!

Wow I can’t believe we are already this far into 2019, so much has already happened and I’m just so excited to share with you!

So first the big move!! On the 13th of Jan I had packed my little bag (actually it was a rather big one :)) and set out on a new season, the next step in my journey!

My parents and I drove from Cape Town to Heidelberg WC (it’s about 3 hour drive) where I will be doing my 3rd year Bible College.

My parents stayed over 1 night in a beautiful apartment before heading back to Cape Town.

We had a wonderful time together and my dad still had some time to help me move in and fix everything up.

How wonderful is Heidelberg! It’s such a small little town along the coast, but let me tell you the people are so friendly here. Despite popular believe Heidelberg actually has more than one street - I even got slightly lost today! No longer than 2 minutes for me to find the place again though - haha.

You find out how much God loves you when he takes care of the little things you care about.
One of those things was coffee! The Lord know how much I love a good coffee and well I really love Seattle coffee. So the awesome thing was a few weeks before I moved here to Heidelberg a Seattle opened in Heidelberg! It’s really those little things that in the end mean so much!

We (as 3rd years) started a week earlier.
The funny thing is it normally took me 25-40min (depending on the traffic) to get to campus back in Cape Town. Here I left the Hostel at 7:45 and was at college 5-6min later.

It’s only been a few days and yet I have learned SO much!! I’ve enjoyed college and getting to know my leaders and fellow students. I’m very thankful for last year’s mission trip where I had a chance to meet some of my fellow students!

Today I would like to share one thing with you. It is something that has really spoken into my life, something that makes you think and something that can change your live.
The question I want to ask you today is what do you say? What do you speak over yourself, over your body, your life and over your circumstances?
So many times we focus on what we believe, we focus on “getting more faith” on “believing harder”, and don’t get me wrong believing and what you believe is super important but what do you say?

In Romans 10:9 we read:
That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised him from the sea, you shall be saved.

So as you can see here, it did not only say if you believe, it also says if you confess with your mouth. Words are SO powerful, words are life or death!

In 2 Corinthians 4:13 we read:
We have the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believe, and therefore have I spoken. We believe and therefore speak

If you are born again - we all have the same amount of faith! We don’t need more faith! We need to start thinking about what we say!
How does faith get activated then? Or how does it work?

Firstly you have to hear!

Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.
Romans 10:17

If we take the woman with the issue of blood as an example, in Mark 5:25-34.
We read that “when she had hear of Jesus”, living in a small town now, I’ve already come to notice that news travels fast!
The woman had heard that Jesus healed people! What happened? Faith was born in her heart!

What is the next step?  Speaking

She spoke! Verse 28 says “for she had SAID if I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.”
The question was not will He (Jesus) heal me, the question was can I get to Him!

She then proceeded to touch the hem of Jesus’ garment and was healed immediately!

This does apply to healing, but not only healing! There is so much more the same apply to finances or everyday problems!

The woman did not go up to Jesus and started telling him about her problem. She told herself and her problem about Jesus.
The woman said what she believe, she did not say what she saw. She could have said, “how on earth can I reach Him there is just to many people", she was not allowed in a crowd of people she could have been stoned to death for being unclean.  She could have said it’s been so long how could this work!
NO she did not speak that, she spoke faith. She did not even have a Bible.

We have a Bible with so many promises written just for us, so many ways the Lord can speak to us, so many ways for us to hear!
Then speak it! Speak the promises of God’s Word, Speak to your problems, your circumstances and tell them how big your God is. Speak to your problem.

That is what I want to leave you with today. No matter what kind of trouble, bad circumstances, lack or sickness you are in. Speak to your problem about how big our God is, and you will see your problem shrink in front of your eyes! Say what you believe and not what you see!!

Much Love
